Come and see a different artist at work every week from February to early November!
The artists in our studio visit us from all over the UK (and abroad). From wood turners to watercolourists, sculptors to print makers, enamellers to oil painters, illustrators to abstract painters, there is something for everyone to enjoy! This is a unique programme where you can see the creative process in action, with artists working on their latest pieces. In addition, you can often buy original work direct from the artist or choose from a selection of reproductions and other merchandise. Artists welcome visitors during the same hours as the museum.
Some exhibitions also include demonstrations.
In addition to seeing artists at work in person, look at some of our videos of artists demonstrating and listen to Rachael Singleton, one of our past Artists in Residence from 2023 talking about her residency experience on the ‘Authentic Obsessions’ podcast. (From minute 21.25) Listen here
