Vibrant colours, permanent, waterproof, transparent or opaque; acrylic inks give the artist a myriad of options in their work.
This 2-day course will explore the possibilities for both realistic and abstract paintings using acrylic inks. You will experiment with different methods of applying the ink and cover working with layers of colour, wet into wet, detail, and usage with other media.
No prior knowledge of working with acrylic inks is necessary.

Materials List
Acrylic inks will be supplied by Jackie Garner, at a cost of £6 per participant,
payable directly to her on the day.
Please also bring the following:
Palette
Brushes: Nylon brushes are best
Supports: Stretched watercolour paper OR a watercolour pad OR a watercolour block. A CP/Not (e.g. slightly textured) surface is best. A4 or A3
Two water pots
Small spray bottle for water (Not essential as Jackie will bring spares.)
Sponge: the car wash type
Ruling Pen if you already have one. (No need to buy specially.)

Artist’s Profile
Jackie Garner trained at Medway College of Design before becoming Nature in Art’s first education officer. She is now a professional artist who specialises in portraying wildlife, taking inspiration from encountering wildlife in its natural habitat.
Jackie teaches and lectures regularly, and is a contributor to Artists & Illustrators magazine. She has exhibited with many art societies, including the National Exhibition Wildlife Art, the Society of Wildlife Artists, BirdScapes
Gallery, Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours and has held solo exhibitions in
London and Gloucestershire. Jackie is the author and illustrator of The Wildlife Artist’s Handbook.
