UWE MA/MFA Curator in Training Blog

MA/MFA Curating is a unique postgraduate programme based in the University of the West of England’s Department of Art and Design. Working closely with a range of cultural organisations in Bristol and the South West, students are mentored throughout the course by curators from our partner organisations.

The course is full-time and runs from January to December. Teaching sessions take place on Mondays on the third floor of the historic Arnolfini building (Arnolfini City Campus) on Bristol’s harbour side. Students spend one day per week on placement with one of the partner organisations. Course leaders identify applicants who suit particular placements and interview them with the relevant partner organisations. There are currently four applicants for every place on the course so competition for places is strong.

Please contact the course leader for further information – Dr Matthew Partington at matthew.partington@uwe.ac.uk or on 0117 32 84746. For further details about the course and how to apply go to the UWE course site
