With Easter just around the corner, come along and make a beautiful hanging decoration!
Otters, wildfowl, kingfishers, waders on the shoreline, animals at a waterhole.…anyone wanting to paint wildlife in its natural habitat will sooner or later need to tackle painting water. Wildlife may use water to swim, drink, bathe, dabble or dive. This course will explore how we can convincingly depict wildlife and water in a variety of scenes. We will investigate reflections, movement, perspective, transparency, colour, tone and atmosphere.
Acrylics are an ideal medium for this course, but oils, watercolours or pastels are also acceptable.
Darren Rees received the Artist in Residency honour from the Friends of The Scott Polar Research Institute, travelling to the Antarctic Peninsula. This display presents some of his sketches and paintings executed in situ, plus some studio pieces completed on his return.
