Fundraising Raffle
Help support Nature in Art Trust by taking part in the museum’s fundraising raffle. Tickets are ONLY available via the shop desk on-site, so please ask a member of staff when you are next visiting if you would like to purchase one.
The first prize is a copper-wheel engraved vase (currently on display) by the world renowned artist Michael Fairbairn. There are also another 10 prizes up for grabs:

Michael is a world renowned glass engraver and has engraved this 29cm high lead crystal vase with a Chinese dragon specifically as a prize for the museum’s raffle. He uses the challenging copper-wheel technique where the glass is moved over the tool rather than the tool over the glass. This is a rare opportunity to acquire a piece by this remarkable maker.
Raffle tickets will be available to buy until 5pm on Sunday 5th June. The draw took place at 12pm on June 6th. The winner of the glass was I. POTTER. Other winners were: K Yerbury, E Green, H Watts, H Channon, J Cox, A Albright, T Hancock, V Winfield, P Orme and A Poole.
Exhibition:
This is Nature in Art’s first ever exhibition of stereoscopic (3-D) images, first invented in 1832 and now enjoying a revival.
You will be able to borrow some of our 3D glasses and go on a journey through the micro world, seeing things, as for the first time, in their true three dimensional form.
Discover a whole new way to see and enjoy the beauty in nature.
Small but Perfectly Formed will be on show until June 12th.
Exhibition:
The Wildlife Art Society International annual selling exhibition of wildlife art comes to Nature in Art.
Around 300 paintings, drawings, original prints, photographs and sculpture by professional and part-time members of this active organisation will be on display, the majority for sale.
Members of the Society will also be demonstrating throughout the exhibition.
The exhibition is FREE to attend *normal admission charges apply to view the museum galleries* and is on show until June 5th.
Artist in Residence
Kim Thompson is both a wildlife artist and illustrator. She trained at Dyfed College of Art in West Wales and has always been inspired by the natural world.
She primarily works in oils acrylics and pencils, creating unique and vibrant works with realistic detail.
Wallsworth Art Group
Join the art group as they listen to talented textile artist Liz Brooke-Ward as she discusses her work and her inspirations.

Artist in Residence
Josie Brown is a calligrapher and heraldic artist, who has carried out carrying out commissions for the private, academic and military sectors.
She enjoys taking natural materials together with ancient techniques and using them in a contemporary manner.
Artist in Residence
Liz Brooke Ward is a stitched textile artist whose work is inspired by the natural world and the landscape. Though she specialises in traditional techniques of embroidery and patchwork, she uses digital technology within her design process.
Dare to Dabble 
Choose from 2 sessions: 10.30am – 1pm or 2pm – 4.30pm
Collage is a wonderful technique where artwork is made from an assemblage of different forms such as tissue papers, stamps, fabric, foils, photos etc – creating a new picture. The origins of collage can be traced back hundreds of years, but this technique made a dramatic reappearance in the early 20th century as an art form of novelty.
During this workshop, lots of interesting materials will be available for you to rummage through and use, but please do bring along other things that have caught your attention – perhaps a beautifully printed paper bag or old music papers.

This 2-day course will focus on producing detailed paintings of natural objects such as feathers, seeds and shells, using a pure watercolour technique.
We will cover working with layers of colour, wet into wet, and lifting out colour to create texture, pattern, iridescence and form.

Artist’s Profile
Jackie Garner trained at Medway College of Design before becoming Nature in Art’s first education officer. She is now a professional artist who specialises in portraying wildlife, taking inspiration from encountering wildlife in its natural habitat. Jackie teaches and lectures regularly, and is a contributor to Artists & Illustrators magazine. She has exhibited with many art societies, including the National Exhibition Wildlife Art, the Society of Wildlife Artists, BirdScapes Gallery, Royal Institute of
Painters in Water Colours and has held solo exhibitions in London and Gloucestershire. Jackie is the author and illustrator of The Wildlife Artist’s Handbook.

Exhibition:
This display is a celebration of the work by James TA Osborne RE (1907 – 1979) who regularly exhibited at the Royal Academy and the Society of Painter-Etchers and Engravers.
He was well know for his experimentation with print and paper and leaves behind a varied body of work, examples of which are held in public and private collections internationally.
Now extended to 24th July.
