Choose from 2 sessions: 10.30am – 1.00pm or 2.00pm – 4.30pm
This workshop is a great introduction to using air drying clay and clay tools. After learning the basics you will make your very own clay vessel that you can take home to paint. Once it’s dry you could use it to keep all of your precious trinkets, your pencils or even a plant!

Join the art group as they listen to artist Linda Twiddy, who will be sharing her experiences of art. From her technical drawings to her wildlife scenes, she will share her inspirations and skills with the group.
Linda Twiddy will be artist in residence from 6th – 11th September.

Wallsworth Art Group
Join the art group for a private view of the latest British Wildlife Photogrpahy Awards, which is on show at the museum until November 13th. The group will have the chance to discuss amongst themselves their opinions on the winners and highly commended images.
This a lovely chance to see up close what is fast becoming the most popular photography exhibition for visitors.

Learn how to make your very own scraperboard – a very effective material to draw on. Then using specialist tools you will be able to scratch into the surface to draw whatever image takes your fancy.
(Templates will be available to use if you wish).

Join the art group as they explore the mediums of charcoal and pastels, both different but very expressive art forms. Each member of the group will be able to explore the effects that can be achieved with the mediums and begin to produce their own mixed media drawing.
There is an optional £1 supplement for this event.
Join the art group as they listen to Cath Hodsman who will be exploring the wonderful world of insects, butterflies and moths. Cath has a passion for insects and will share her reasons why and the techniques behind her detailed interpretations.

The printing method we will use today uses a pencil to make marks on the printing surface. It is a fantastic workshop that will introduce you to the art of print making and how to easily make complicated multiple colour prints.
You will also be able to use your printing block multiple times to create your own unique wrapping paper – all ready for Christmas!
