Needlefelted Bird Pictures – Kirsten Hill-Nixon

Needlefelting works woolen fibers into the surface of a fabric backing to produce “pastel” like images with the wool fibres.

By the end of the day you will have a fabulous life like bird picture, and the confidence to go on felting at home.

You don’t need to be fabulous at drawing to give this technique a go!

We will be using hand dyed and commercially dyed wool fibers, to create our images, our backgrounds will be woolen textiles, industrial prepared needlefelt, upcycled hand dyed woolen fabrics, upcycled tweeds.

This technique uses specialist needles to felt the wool fibers into the surface of the fabrics using small tapping motions as if we were tapping lots of pencil dots onto a page.
